Colours talk.

This series was born in 2012 when I participated a so-called ‘work and travel’ program in the United States.

The first picture that inspired me to create the whole series was the one with the toddler on. He was playing under a rainbow which was a phenomenon caused by a man-made waterfall wall behind him. For me it was such a beautiful scene that I wanted to emphasize it by desaturating the background and leave only him and the rainbow colourful.

After this I observed everything with a different eye and tried to find the hidden messages – whether it was written or delivered by pictures. Colours talked and I listened.

I felt like the cities were contributing to the project way more than me because all I did was being there and capturing the moment. I didn’t direct the happenings, I didn’t guide the participants, I just paid attention to what I was shown. I was told secrets and I felt like and insider.

The photos I took were high in contrast already regarding the content and I pushed it even further when I modified the colours.
