Black and White Photography

Rainbow

I am a huge fan of black and white photography. I am a fan of starting blog posts with cliché sentences, too, it seems. I don’t only love taking black and white photos for the sake of it but I am also fond of synthesising them in my work.

Mr Postman,look…

Mr Postman

You seem like a nice guy. You really do. Delicate, even – considering that you developed these feelings for me during this short period of time. Your love note truly warmed my heart but made me feel guilty at the same time. Maybe it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have let you this close. I shouldn’t have let you think that this was anything more than you bringing me letters and the parcels.

Human Nature

rooted BLOGPOST

I always found that You don’t have to go out of Your way if You need inspiration for designing. Either it’s about architecture, fashion or graphic design, nature provides an endless source of breathtaking structures, colours, patterns and phenomenon.

Portal

I’ve seen this architectural phenomenon many times on my way to Cranleigh. It caught my attention right away because, well, a gate that refuses to be a gate makes me question the very base of my studies.

So this little ‘attention door’ cannot be told what a gate should do. Separating and connecting at the same time, for instance. (How poetic of a few pieces of brick and some cement!) But this one only stands by the road, not separating nor connecting, just looking very mysterious. Even suspicious if You ask me. But I guess, that’s just the way portals to other dimensions are nowadays…

‘They know that a cat is watching them.’

modified

We travelled down to Brighton for a few days. I have never been to there and I made a big mistake when I thought I already know the English winter and how mild it is. Despite the fact that my ears turned to be icicles, I really enjoyed walking around and discovering a new city.

Free creation

I wish. I wish gravity and rainwater didn’t make it so hard to create freely. Experimenting with masses, materials, textures and surfaces without having to think about heat insulation or load bearing beams sounds like a dream come true. And then there is electricity to consider, heating and God forbid plumbing with all the wires, pipes and those fairly unattractive chimneys and bathroom windows that end the façadfairytale. Unfortunately though these things are quite handy on an everyday basis when you are a human being, not a cow.

What do You want to do…

…when You grow up?

I did not really understand why it is a must to force myself into a box by defining a certain future career for myself. It felt like losing my freedom. Still, as a kid I had to answer questions asked by adults so I went into the game and said, I love drawing and designing the most and so I want to be a fashion designer, of course.
