The Doodle Design is just a silly illustration where I tried to challenge myself to create strange little characters that have unusual looks or do unusual things.
Like a disillusioned octopus who has four tentacles and wears a top hat and a bow tie. What’s his story? Is he on his way back home from the annual ball and awards night? Those are always cringey. The food portions are small, and the music is terrible. Everyone feels forced to dance like ‘no one is watching’ but they all feel awkward.
Or the three blobs who all live in one tiny plant pot because the rent is so high that it’s impossible to make ends meet living alone. Right now they all seem content, even happy but in actuality they all have to walk on eggshells around each other to avoid drama. All three have unresolved issues from childhood and get triggered very easily.
And let’s not forget about the overly stressed robot who is dangerously close to burnout because he works all the time but he seems to be unable to relax in his freetime and his surrounding tends to forget that he is a human(oid) and has feelings too and needs positive feedback time to time. All his buttons are exposed so even if people don’t mean to, they push them constantly and that makes him tense. Tense even on a physical level, that’s why he cleanches his jaw all the time. He is constantly in fight-or-flight.
