I think the idea of couples wearing matching t-shirts is considered to be cheesy by many people. And of course, the male one has to have blue colours and words like ‘beast’,’king’, ‘mr’ on it and the female has to have pink tones and say ‘beauty’, ‘queen’ or ‘mrs’ and so forth. It’s common that the designs have wording that suggests that the members of the couple own each other like one owns a pair of shoes.
How about t-shirts for couples, that are both unisex and they don’t mirror but complete each other?
The idea behind these products is that the person, who purchases them, keeps the t-shirt with the ‘hole’ on it and presents the one with the missing bit to his/her significant other. These tees don’t have wording on them but still deliver the message clearly: ‘I’m not complete without you’ or ‘My heart is yours’ (as cheesy as it sounds 🙂 ). This message goes first and foremost to the person who receives the t-shirt. It’s not about tagging each other and trying to prove anything to the world.
