I was contacted by a very nice lady called Christine Lindgren to design a logo, a facebook header image and a flyer for her pet sitting company called Purrrfect Pet Sitting.
I started with the logo because that’s a permanent thing for a company and wanted to complement its style and colours with the other designs later on. I sketched down 4 ideas, all of which I paired with several different fonts and sent them over to Christine. I was happy to find out that she liked this ‘Town Musicians of Bremen’ idea the most because it was my personal favourite as well. It’s playful, fun and eye-catching, especially with the bright purple cat.
Once we agreed on a font, I started to work on the flyer. Christine had quite a few ideas in mind as for what elements she wanted me to include. She asked me to illustrate a night and a daytime scene with a cat dreaming about a fish and a dog being walked. I was also sent the texts and was amazed by this little poem she wrote to be the slogan:
Take a paws from your chores &
Hire a helpful sitter
To give you peace of mind
When you leave behind
Your most loved little critter.
She asked me to make the flyer very colourful, inviting and friendly. I drew and painted everything by hand (as I usually prefer) and then put together the pieces in PhotoShop.
Finally, Chrissy asked me to recycle the flyer and turn it into the facebook header image so I picked the daytime side only to avoid an overcrowded looking banner (and because I was proud of the way the doggy turned out :-D).
