I made these Personalised Splash Wall Stickers for (you guessed it) Shift+delete again.
The creative company needed a sticker design this time that was created mainly for kids and that is in line with the style of the other stickers they have.
Fortunately Shift+delete has always been very flexible and open-minded with project briefs so I pretty much have got a free hand as long as my idea meets these two pieces of criteria.
I have been all about incorporating splash motifs in my art work for a long while now. So long in fact, that the mean voice in my head started to question whether I’m able to do anything other than splashy designs. I’d like to think that the answer is yes, however, one last attempt of creating something with splash motifs won’t hurt anyone, will it? Apart from my ego that always pushes me.
Anyway, I came up with 4 different kinds of personalised splash stickers that one could put up right next to their door with their name on it. It doesn’t have to be door either, it could be a wardrobe, book shelf or window or anything along those lines. I just wanted to create some kind of relationship between the sticker and its surroundings so it doesn’t just float on the wall but connects to something.
