This personalised birthday card I made for my Mum because this year I decided to give her something hand-crafted, especially made for her.
I collected the leaves myself from a neighbour who I know would have been very happy to give them to me if he had noticed me hiding behind the bush helping myself to them. And yes, they came in black and white and some of them were see-through.
The leafy motives looked quite flat on their own so I added some origami flowers and shadows to sneak in a bit of a 3D effect.
I wanted the composition to be feminine and classy, nothing too over-the-top so I used only grey shades for the middle piece and picked a subtle beige colour for the background.
