My Mercury Retrograde poster was insired by conversations I had with Edith.
On a day when everything seemed to have gone wrong she mentioned that Mercury was actually in retrograde. So I thought, what a great excuse to blame everything on circumstances that are beyond our control! Mercury should take responsibility here because I’m tried of being angry at myself.
My brain automatically searched the database aka. all the experiences I have had so far (everything I saw, heard, etcetc) and brought this cliché slogan back with herself: It’s not you, it’s me. Yeah, I bet if Mercury could talk to us, it would say something like that. I even chuckled a bit.
Since I was very much in art print creating mode then, there was no question whether this idea should be turned into a piece. Just had to do the manual labour then. It was super easy since I used an amazing vintage illustration from Rawpixel as the background. Then picked a font I really like and that was me done. The joke did all the work.
These posters can actually be purchased right here. All sorts of sizes and frames are available.
