Hungarian Motif Wall Sticker

I designed this Hungarian Motif Wall Sticker for Shift+delete.

The goal was to create a product for families who would like to add a little personal and artistic touch to their home. The pattern was inspired by a Hungarian cartoon I grew up on.

The theme of this cartoon is basically an animation that shows a bird singing but instead of notes this floral, vintage Hungarian pattern comes out of its beak. It’s very creative and artistic and I just found it so inspiring and beautiful that I wanted to create my own version of it.

I recycled sections and elements of the original design and edited/rearranged them in a manner so they would form this little house-like motif and give home for the letters. I made the composition asymmetrical deliberately just because…Well, I religiously believe in asymmetric designs.

I chose a neat, handwriting-like font to emphasize the vintage vibe of the motif and placed a little bird on the first letter for a hint of quirkyness. The family name is (of course) to be personalised.
