I created this Greeting Card for the Christening of the children of my cousin. It was actually my parents who asked me to make a bespoke card that they can then take with themselves to the ceremony as part of the Christening gift.

I guess because a lot of my designs are on the louder side and, of course, taking the occasion into consideration, I aimed to create something that is modest and easy on the eyes but still unique.

I don’t know how this particular idea came to me to be honest. I just had a vision of a dainty circular composition that features simple line drawings of flowers and dotted rings and is foil pressed onto a white card using gold foil.

I must say, it wasn’t easy to find a company that foil presses your own design onto one single card for you. I didn’t find one company that would do that to be exact. However, I was very attached to the idea of gold foiling and didn’t want to give up on it. Fortunately my boyfriend who used to work for a creative company helped me out and got in touch with his old colleagues. They do make foil-pressed cards amongst many other cool things and they were so kind to do us a favour and produced a beautiful card and sent it to us within a couple of days.
