When I started to put together a collection of art prints, some of my first designs were The Home of the Cone and Statue of the Force. I was very inspired by the Statue of Liberty and thought it would be quite cool to create a range of art works that involve iconic American landmarks. I ended up doing just that and named the collection ‘Land of the Freestyle’.
And if we talk American landmarks, the Empire State Building is a must. And if I want to keep it iconic, I might as well recreate the famous scene from King Kong. A feline version of it, anyway. Because a pinch of ginger cat just makes everything so much better.
This was kind of my thought process behind the creation of this poster. Add a bunch of stock image researching and hours of editing and then we have Cat Empire. I’d like to think that those who love cats and movies would appreciate this quirky poster.
