I have designed this Business Card for Harry Forbes.
He is a musician and asked me to create a detailed, random and fun illustration to go on the front. That’s pretty much all he said, as always he let me be creative on my terms.
Initially I started to sketch it down on actual paper with an actual pen, but then halfway through decided to switch to Illustrator. I wasn’t too sure what elements to incorporate so I thought it would be easier to use a computer program where I can easily change and move items around with ease and without too much disruption.
One thing I was sure about from the beginning though was that I wanted to put his guitar and his little mascot Arthur (who I created for him earlier) on the front. As for the rest of the picture, I drew some random and occasionally distorted elements to create a psychedelic jungle. At the very end I added a spiral as the background to go along with the theme.
As far as the colour scheme goes, I came up with a few different ones to find out what Harry’s preference is, and he pretty much liked them all so we kept them all!
