Cover for abstrac.

This is the second cover I made for abstrac. who is a young musician based in Surrey.

He sent me over a moodboard he made with pictures of musicians who inspire him, photos of live concerts and several colourful artworks. He asked me to do a cover image for him that basically sums up all these pictures and reflect on his music which incorporates many different genres and therefore is very colourful.

My first idea was to reflect on the famous Dark side of the moon album cover by Pink Floyd (it was on the moodboard as well) and recreate it but with a twist when I replace the rainbow with rainbow-coloured paint squirting out of the triangle.

As time passed, the artwork kept evolving and becoming more complex and finally it grew into an absolutely original creation that is clever on its own way. It has the colours of a rainbow but there is also enough negative space to prevent the whole image from looking ‘too much’.
