I made this 31st Birthday Card for Shaun. He told me once that he is not a big fan of cards but he really appreciates those that I make myself. I understood what he meant because I also feel that buying a card for someone is nice but can feel a bit lazy or impersonal, especially compared to a hand-made card. I guess I put the bars high for myself when I started to make these hand-made cards back then so I only have myself to blame. 😀
For this birthday card I used that weave-method I invented(?) 2 years ago when I made some Christmas cards. Then I cut out a shape (star, pine tree and snowflake) from the front and created a paper weave layer underneath using the same white card material. This time around, I cut out the number 31, and used a black card for the weave layer to achieve this bolder look.
